written by<\/i><\/b><\/span>: dr. jacquie jacob, university of kentucky<\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n guinea fowl have many of the same basic external parts as <\/span>chickens<\/a> and <\/span>turkeys<\/a>. these parts\u00a0include the eyes, ears, beak, wattle,\u00a0hocks,\u00a0and shanks. the helmeted guinea fowl, which\u00a0is the most common species of guinea fowl, also has a bony protrusion on its head.\u00a0in addition to this helmet, another characteristic particular to the guinea fowl is its head cap skin. figures 1 and 2 show the external parts of a helmeted guinea fowl.<\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
