written by<\/span><\/i><\/b>: dr. jacquie jacob, university of kentucky<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n geese have many of the same basic external parts as <\/span>ducks<\/a> and other fowl, such as <\/span>chickens<\/a>. figure 1 illustrates the external parts of a goose’s body. some breeds of geese have features that others do not. for example, as shown in figure 2, some breeds have a horny <\/span>knob <\/strong>at the base of the <\/span>bill<\/strong> and\/or a <\/span>dewlap<\/strong>, which is a loose growth of skin extending from the base of the lower bill to the upper throat.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n
